When I Get Home: Good lord, I love me some Solange. It’s a whole different type of love and respect than I have for Queen B. Solange is a serious artist who pushes boundaries and makes you think with her art. This new album is ambient and exploratory. If you haven’t listened to it yet, go in with an open mind. A lot of the songs are under 3 minutes, which gives it almost a patchwork-like feeling, and it takes a few times listening to it to settle into your flow. But once you do, the story starts to bloom and it’s absolutely stunning.

  1. Apprvl: I recently found this brand on IG, but it has been around since 2014. It’s run by artist Megan Mussari and is focused completely on natural dyes and fibers. I ordered this bandana and some other things a couple of weeks ago, and I’m just in love with the aesthetics and the quality.

  2. Vintage Ruby: I’ve convinced myself I need a unique, vintage ruby ring or necklace and I’m on the hunt. My son’s birthstone is ruby and I love art deco vintage jewelry, so my obsession this month has been trying to find the perfect piece on Etsy.

  3. Rose Moisture Plus Collection: In this dry transitional weather, I’ve been loving Jurlique’s rose water collection. It smells so delicate and floral, but also has really been helping to keep me moisturized and my skintone even. This Australian-based skincare brand was founded by a horticulturist, botanist, and biochemist where they grow their products on their personal organic farm.

  4. Composting: Last month, I talked about the book Give A Sh*t, which has been so helpful in my sustainability journey. One of those steps is to start composting and reducing our food waste. I recently signed up for Grove Collaborative and ordered a bunch of supplies to get me started, including these biodegradable kitchen compost bins. Sexy, right?

  5. Hair clips: I am living my glory days in the early 2000s with my new stash of hair clips. I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new Valet Studio clips and a bunch of nostalgic styles I snagged from Free People. Anybody up for a trip to Claire’s soon?

  6. Menu: I have a really weird design style that’s a cross between minimalistic Scandinavian and colorful ’70s dance party. But when it comes to household essentials, I have a tendency to go with products that are simple and minimal like these salt + pepper grinders from Menu. I discovered this Scandinavian brand on Pinterest and I have pretty much everything on their site pinned to my “coveting” board.

  7. Forest Sand and Air: I love painting. I have absolutely zero skill for it, but I love it and I appreciate the skill it takes. Recently, I’ve been drooling over Russian painter Marina Matkina and her floral oil paintings. The layers and textures make them look like literal wildflower fields jumping off the canvas. I’m obsessed.
